RodbusterThe Rodbuster involves the placement of rebar in pre-determined patterns before the concrete is poured, as well as tying the rebar together with wire, to ensure that it is secure. Rodbusters must be able to read and understand blueprints, as well as use the proper tools to secure the rebar in place. They must also be able to lift and move heavy objects and be comfortable working at heights. Safety is of paramount importance in this job, and workers should be familiar with the proper safety protocols.PRIMARY DUTIESPrepare and install reinforcing steel for poured concrete structuresSafely operate various power and hand tools to measure, cut and shape steelAssemble and tie steel pieces together using wire and clampsInstall steel pieces according to blueprints or oral instructionsMonitor the quality and safety of their workCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to coordinate the rebar installation processUsing power tools to cut and shape the steel rods and meshUsing blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to determine the size, shape, quantity, and location of the reinforcing rodsEnsure that all rebar work meets or exceeds industry standards and local building codesWorking with reinforcing steel barsCut, bend, and install rebar according to specifications, using specialized tools and equipmentPosition structural componentsMaintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocolsDetermine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructionsReview blueprints or specifications to determine work requirementsParticipate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up to date with the latest techniques and industry best practicesPerform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSMinimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Rodbuster or similar roleStrong understanding of construction site safety practicesProficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasksMust be physically fit and able to lift 75 lbs.Must have knowledge of proper safety proceduresExcellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team membersMust be able to read blueprintsMust have basic carpentry and welding skillsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug testAttention to detail for accurate placement of reinforcement materialsAbility to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snowFisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity employer.
