Physical Therapist

We are currently looking for a Full Time Physical Therapist to join our Physical Therapy Unit 2 team located at the Ardmore Health Clinic working . Summary: Provides physical therapy services to patients referred to physical therapy and provides supervision and instruction to the department/facility staff as required. Responsibilities: * Confers with person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient care and keep them informed of any additional patient needs, treatments, modifications and/or progress * Implements proper techniques to assist and handle patients, and the ability to handle tools and machines of the profession * Coordinates with staff for patient scheduling and implementing physical therapy services * Performs housekeeping duties by routine and periodic cleaning to maintain cleanliness and infection control * Evaluates assigned patients referred to physical therapy or other offered services by the department * Interprets and carries out the prescription of the physician * Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department/facility * Provides and advocates age and culturally appropriate, holistic patient care based upon facility mission statements and as outlined in policies and procedures * Performs research and conducts presentations as required * Assist managers and/or supervisors identifying staffing needs and recruitment * Proposes new ideas to improve offerings, processes and procedures * Participates in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area * Prepares reports as needed or requested * Maintains files, logs, and records * Participates in meetings to ensure effective communication with staff, peers, supervisors and management * Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types - Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner - Partners with internal and external services as needed to ensure appropriate referral is made - Greets and engages with a smile - Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes * Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities * Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types - Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment - Maintains and promotes professionalism - Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics - Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards * Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc. * Performs all other duties as assigned Competencies: Essential: * Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements * Ability to work independently * Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability * Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines * Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) * Knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques * Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management Skills: Essential: * Basic Computer skills Experience: Essential: * No prior experience required Education: Essential: * Please see the below comments Nonessential: * Bachelors Degree in directly related field * Doctor of Physical Therapy Essential: * Bachelor's in Physical Therapy or a Doctor of Physical Therapy is required for this position Credentials: Essential: * Pass general background check * Basic Life Support (BLS) * Licensed Physical Therapist Essential: * Must have obtained state licensure or registration as a physical therapist or be eligible to obtain within 90 days of hire Working Conditions: Essential: * Works in a hospital or clinic environment * Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach * Use computer up to 75% of shift * Frequently assist with lifting patients * Standing up to 100% of shift * Walking up to 100% of shift * Infrequent travel * Pass pre-employment drug test
