LaSalle Network has partnered with a well-established health/medical organization that's based in Rosemont, who's in need of a well-rounded, Systems Engineer to join their team. They're looking for someone that has in-depth, technical engineering experience in Windows, Public Cloud (AWS or Azure) and VMWare to join their team and primarily perform project-based duties. The projects that are slated for this individual to undertake include (but are not limited to) performing modernization efforts where you're migrating on-prem technologies to the cloud, Active Directory overhauls, incorporating more automation into their environment via API integrations, and implementing new monitoring solutions.

This role is a long-term contract opportunity with the potential to extend or convert to an FTE and is operating under the hybrid work model with 2-days a week on-site in Rosemont, IL.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Perform project-based work involving hybrid infrastructure solutions, spanning from on-premises to cloud environments
  • Define system requirement(s) and design solutions that meet the needs of the business through cross functional collaboration
  • Evaluate and recommend on-premises and cloud technologies and services to optimize performance, cost, and security
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to both on-premises and cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Implement, maintain, and manage monitoring/observability and alerting systems to ensure the health and performance of hybrid environments.
  • Train and coach other members of the team on newly emerging tools/technologies, best practices, administration tasks, and incident management


Systems Engineer Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working with the following tools in a formal work-setting:
    • Virtualized Technologies (VMWare or Hyper-V)
      • VMWare (specifically vDrives and vSphere) is the more desirable skillset out of the two mentioned
    • Cloud Platforms (AWS or Azure)
    • Traditional Windows OS Technologies (Office/Microsoft365, Windows Servers, Active Directory/AzureAD/Microsoft Entra ID)
  • 2+ years of experience working with Automation Tools (i.e., Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
  • Prior experience modernizing legacy environments/technologies
