Deloitte Strategy & Transactions Team RoleOur Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, and sustainability. The team works closely with clients at every stage of their journey, helping them navigate challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and implement practical solutions before, during, and after major transformational projects or transactions creating lasting impact.Work You'll DoFirst, you will be a key member of client deal teams through gathering, normalizing, validating, and analyzing transactional data (e.g., sales and inventory data) to develop and test hypotheses for a given deal.You will work as part of cross-functional teams providing financial, accounting, operational and tax due diligence, bringing your skills to the deal to manage and analyze the data, and utilize your visual analytics skills to tell a compelling story of our findings.Second, you will be using business intelligence tools and use your data analytic skillset to provide meaningful insights to our clients which are crucial to their deal investment hypothesis.You will leverage your client service skillset directly interacting with C-suite and private equity executives providing advice on some of the most critical aspects of the M&A transaction.A candidate can expect to do some or all of the following:Coordinate with FP&A and Strategic Finance personnel to identify, collect and validate data from client databasesAnalyze financial & key performance indicator deal data for trends and outliersIdentify opportunities to design and develop visualizations and dashboards that enable effective and repeatable analysis of large transactional datasetsDirectly advise clientsExcellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as demonstrable evidence of effective team leadership, client relationship development, project management, and engagement management, preferably in a client service settingTeam members collaborate with other transaction service analytics professionals, members of the deal teams and clients to produce analyses within fast-paced transaction deadlines.This is not a "back-office" position; this is front-line client interaction with significant opportunity for growth and advancement.The teamAn in-depth understanding of the M&A landscape, market experience, and access to our global network of advisors means we have the capabilities to help clients confidently pursue strategic transactions in both domestic and global markets - this includes managing the entire M&A lifecycle.Working with our clients to develop growth strategies based on their organizational goals, our services are designed to help clients be prepared to capitalize on opportunities during the merger, acquisition or divestiture process.Qualifications Required:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or similarMinimum 1 year of experience analyzing large datasets, including demonstrated understanding of data manipulation toolsDemonstrated knowledge of advanced business analytics and data mining solutionsDemonstrated understanding of multiple business cycles (examples include but not limited to Order-to-cash revenue cycle, procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory, etc.)Experience designing and storytelling via data visualization (examples include but not limited to Tableau, Power BI, Excel Charts, etc.)Experience analyzing or managing accounting, financial or transactional dataAbility to travel up to 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you servePreferred:Strong working knowledge of data structures and database designKnowledge of GAAP, particularly revenue recognition and ASC 606Experience performing ETL/data manipulation using Alteryx or similar toolsExperience designing data visualizations with Tableau, Power BI, or similar toolsKnowledge of how to use programming languages for data analyses: SQL, Python, R or other languages.Statistical methods in support of data analysisCPA, CA certificationMaster of Business Administration or similar degreeThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $76,500 to $141,000.
