Summary: Medical Assistants are key members of the health care delivery team responsible for flow of patients through the clinic. This role will work directly with a Family Medicine/OB Clinician. Duties include, but are not limited to: rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, administering injections, patient chart review, and assisting with minor procedures. Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Typical Schedule: Scheduled 4 days/week, with one late night per week. Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or RMA,LPN or EMT, required. CMA, CCMA, RMA, or WI LPN licensure, required. CPR certification, required. Minimum of one year of full-time employment in Family Practice, preferred. Prior experience with electronic medical records, preferred. Responsibilities include: Completing pre-visit planning based on OMC policy and procedure. Taking and recording patient vital signs in the electronic health record system. Taking notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health record system. Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation. Assisting the clinician with sterile and nonsterile procedures. Continuing outreach to patients with overdue preventative care needs. Assisting with medication prescription process. Placing future orders for lab and imaging. Keeping exam room stocked with adequate medical supplies. Preparing procedure and exam rooms for patient examinations Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Critical thinking skills (foresight to pre planning of visits). Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records. Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business information. Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards
