Creating innovative experiences that make moving money, selling, and shopping simple, personalized, and secure, PayPal empowers consumers and businesses in approximately 200 markets to join and thrive in the global economy.This job monitors risk metrics, identifies issues, and recommends best practices for internal control processes, leads projects to enhance internal control effectiveness, analyzes business trends, develops strategies for process improvements, and ensures compliance with laws and regulations.Essential Responsibilities:Identify issues and recommend best practices for internal control processes.Lead functional projects and programs to enhance internal control effectiveness.Partner with teams to analyze business trends and their impact on internal controls.Develop and implement strategies for process improvements within the internal controls function.Ensure compliance with laws and regulations through effective internal control measures.Expected Qualifications:5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for the execution of risk management activities within Global Customer Services in collaboration with Business Unit Compliance (BUCO):Create and maintain risk and control inventories including Capabilities, Products, Processes, Legal Entity, Risks, and ControlsIdentify control gaps and remediate risks for all new regulatory and product changes across Service ExperienceProvide guidance to First Line on the execution of Process Assurance Monitoring and analyze results for risks to the businessDrive execution of incident, complaint, and Risk Compliance Plan (RCP) remediationMonitor metrics for Risk Compliance Review (RCR) programs and ensure timely awareness and actions from Program owners as applicableMaintenance of Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) tool data for areas of responsibilityAssisting the business and Coordination Services team with responding to Internal and External Audit and Testing Engagements (e.g., Second Line of Defense reviews, Internal Audits, Regulatory Examinations).Review and derive insights from key risk metrics for their business area, interpreting the data provided through dashboards and reporting (such as reg exams, complaints, incidents, etc.).Provide assertions on risk exposure and articulate and present escalated risks to management.Maintain strong understanding of key risk management principles and PayPal products and services within area of responsibility.Requirements:Degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or internal controls, preferably in financial services or technology.Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.Ability to provide risk expertise through a practical, business-oriented lens.Proven ability to solve complex problems with broad business impact and present sensitive information clearly.Strong project management skills with demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across a global, matrixed organization.Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint; familiarity with GRC tools and risk dashboards is an advantage.Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines.PayPal does not charge candidates any fees for courses, applications, resume reviews, interviews, background checks, or onboarding.
