Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor 

DACC’s Workforce Training department is seeking an instructor for the Certified Nursing Assistant program.  The goals of the division are to provide  

• quality workforce training for citizens and industry in the Doña Ana community 
• access to post-secondary training via adult education in ESL and basic skills/high school equivalency (HSE) 
• small business development services. 

Primary Job Duties of the CNA Instructor 

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Instructor will instruct students according to the curriculum designed to assist students to build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the licensing exam for New Mexico CNA, assist students in registering for the New Mexico State CNA licensing exam, teach a 10 week (about 2 and a half months) course (31 Theory Hours, 40 Lab Hours, and 32 Clinical Hours) and will be responsible for teaching skills and clinical skills. PT, Hourly wage $35.00. 

Specific Responsibilities: 

• Teach the course curriculum as outlined by the State of New Mexico for Certified Nurse Assistants. 
• Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting students to obtain the CNA license 
• Maintain accurate records of all students, including attendance records, schedules and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content. 
• Evaluate and document students’ progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained. 
• Communicate effectively with students, and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities and staff. 
• Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Registered Nurse License in New Mexico. 
• Two years’ nursing experience, including at least one year of experience in the provision of LTC facility 
• Completion of adult teaching course or experience teaching adults.
