To continue to strengthen its base and support its growth in the US, Midea KWHA is extending its Research and Innovation capabilities. To lead this effort, Midea’s Kitchen and Water Heating Appliance Division (KWHA) has opened a new position for a Gas Cooktop/Range Hood Technical Product Manager.
The Gas Cooktop/Range Hood Technical Product Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and strategic direction of the following products lines:
- Gas Cooktops
- Range Hoods
The Gas Cooktop/Range Hood Technical Product Manager is a key member of the R&D Team in the US, helping drive breakthroughs in product designs and functionality as well as evaluating product quality. This position will collaboratively work with other team members to identify market and product opportunities, and design unique solutions to progress innovative designs. Domestic and International travel will be required.
Job Responsibilities
- Work cross functionally to develop product strategy with product and technical roadmaps: Define product roadmap based on market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer needs.
- Work with internal teams to conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies related to gas cooktops and range hoods. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and marketing to define product features and enhancements to new platform.
- Collaborate with local and international engineering teams to ensure high-quality delivery of features and improvements.
- Have ownership of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to gas cooktops and range hoods. Ensure products comply with relevant safety, energy efficiency, and environmental regulations.
- Budget Management: Manage the product budget effectively and allocated appropriately to support product development, travel, agency fees, and ongoing maintenance.
- Gather customer feedback through surveys, interviews, and analytics, and transform these insights to drive improvement and address customer/consumer pain points.
- Develop and drive innovation strategy in the Midea gas cooktop and range hoods.
- Possess the ability to guide an international team to develop products.
- Assist in preparation of service manual, technical service bulletins, and trouble-shooting diagrams
Qualifications
- 5-15 years’ experience in cooking technology, airflow technology, or related industry
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of cooking and ventilation market details
- Domestic and international experience and multi-cultural mindset
- Excellent communication, motivation, and coordination skills
- Goal oriented and self-managed personality with a strong entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong problem solving and risk management skills.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge
- Master’s Degree in a related engineering field.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software (PTC-Creo, Solidworks).
- Technical design experience with Gas cooktop or range hood product design.
- Product manager, marketing, or product planning experience in the cooking and/or range hood industry.
