Category Manager- ElectronicsJoin our Global Supply Management team as a Category Manager- Electronics where you will utilize your strong track record of delivering results in a matrixed organization. Where collaboration with diverse individuals, teams, and skill sets is essential for success. As the Category Manager-Electronics, you will partner and lead several categories in electronics, including Distribution, COTs (Common off the shelf components), and switches and relays categories. You will utilize your strong negotiation skills, technical aptitude, and strong relationship-building skills. As the Category Manager, you will understand global markets of raw materials and possess technical aptitude on secondary processes to develop global strategies that leverage Medtronic's global purchasing power and deliver cost-effective and innovative solutions to each operating unit within our network. In addition, you will focus on multiple tiers in their supplier's supply chain to maximize leverage and awareness to ensure compliance and continuity. We're working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.As the Category Manager, you will:Advocate on behalf of the supply management function with business units and operational partners to ensure support for core business objectivesNegotiate contracts that provide year-over-year benefits in performanceIdentify and develop business cases for a healthy year-over-year cost reduction pipeline with suppliers through RFQ's, should costing, process improvement, tier 2 strategies, and yield improvementsPerform market analysis in identifying the best cost country sourcing of said category, provide guidance to technical sourcing and engineering with supplier innovations, and proactively develop forward buy agreements where appropriateDefine and manage winning category strategies and approaches with suppliers.Manage supplier relationships and drive year-over-year performance improvements with quality, delivery, and costsLead regular business reviews with suppliersAnalyze received quotations, select or recommend new suppliersRationalize existing supplier base through stratification, market analysis, supplier development, and supplier consolidationSupport new and on-going supplier quality audit activities to ensure the supply base has robust process controls and capabilities to meet existing and future Medtronic business requirementConduct supply chain risk reviewsAct independently to prescribe methods and new approaches on new and special assignmentsIdentify and utilize metrics, tools, business intelligence, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, while working collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree requiredMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceNice to HaveHighly skilled in developing and executing negotiation strategies with strong organization and collaboration skillsUnderstanding of electronic component commodity market trends and manufacturing process technologies of the categorySkilled in developing category strategies, contract reviews, lean manufacturing, business case development, Best Cost Country (BCR) sourcing experience, and product/process transfer/change requirements in a regulatory environment, with strong presentation skillsExperience using lean methodology processes in a manufacturing environment is a plusExperience in a low-volume and high-mix demand for products environmentNegotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skillsGood organization, project management, and follow-through skillsAbility to prioritize, multitask, and act in a proactive mannerHigh proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, Analytics, and SAP experience preferredAbility to travel to vendor locations is required- domestic and internationalPhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. PR) locations (USD):$110,400.00 - $165,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
