A DAY IN THE LIFE


We are looking for a highly motivated Project Manager Intern, who is passionate about the construction process to join our team. At Ostrander Construction, a Construction Intern has the opportunity to assist Project Managers with the following:

  • Estimating - Describing project proposals and assigning dollar values to the projects. Assist in collecting and reviewing subcontractor proposals.
  • Scheduling - Creating a working timeline for subcontractors/trades in order to complete the project on time. Maintain open line of communication with subcontractors and PM to ensure project is on time.
  • Design meetings - Attend design meetings with owner and team to understand construction management process.
  • Permitting- Fill out permit forms, submit forms with drawings and fees, then send to city/county/fire and wait for approval. Request subcontractor permit submittals as required.
  • Shop Drawing and Submittal Review - Receive shop drawing or submittal from subcontractor, give to PM, communicate to subcontractor that they can begin ordering material and working. Maintain project submittal and Request for Information (RFI) logs.
  • Job Site Visits - Visit job site with PM, make sure project is running smoothly. Discuss critical project-related issues with superintendent and report back to PM.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
  • Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
