Job Title: Medical Lab Technician - Evenings Job Specialty: Laboratory Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening (Mon-Fri 2pm-10:30pm) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience preferred License: Med Lab Technician Certifications: Med Lab Technician (AAB) or Med Lab Technician (AMT) or Med Lab Technician (ASCP) Must-Have: Completion of academic and/or training requirements for technician qualifications Job Description: - Perform tests requiring limited skill and responsibility under supervision. - Maintain acceptable accuracy in patient quality assurance, proficiency, and competency testing. - Use clinical/theoretical knowledge to analyze, investigate, interpret, and report lab data. - Demonstrate job knowledge and maintain current personal training and education. - Practice organizational skills for efficient use of time, materials, cost, and availability of lab data. - Communicate effectively through information monitoring, investigation, resolution, and hand-off to team members. - Maintain acceptable standards for patient or specimen identification and error rates in testing or reporting. - Consistently document investigation and correct interpretation of quality assurance failures or trends. - Earn acceptable scores in proficiency testing and personnel competency testing. - Maintain instrumentation for testing. - Recognize the relationship between lab data and clinical findings or expectations. - Initiate problem investigations and work toward resolutions. - Comply with procedures for tracking laboratory test status and notifications. - Adhere to standards of behavior and take responsibility for corrective actions. - Participate in meetings, committees, task forces, and project teams. - Complete monthly, quarterly, or yearly educational requirements. - Practice all safety standards and maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance.
