Meridian Dental is looking to expand our Dental Hygienist Assisting Team Our amazing state of the art dental facility creates a great environment not only for our patients, but also for our employees to work in. Our goal is to provide amazing customer service along with great dental care. We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals that like to multitask and keep busy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Promote dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screenings and radio-graphic studies and charting conditions of decay and disease.
- Prepare treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating and draping patient.
- Provide outstanding patient care.
- Must be punctual and dependable to help maintain the daily schedule and workflow.
- Effectively communicate with patients, staff, visitors and our sister offices.
- Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing and selecting instruments.
- Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visit by evaluating patient’s oral health.
- Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.
- Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession and exposing and developing radio-graphic studies.
- Arrests dental decay by applying fluoride and other cavity-preventing agents.
- Assist dentist in managing medical and dental emergencies when/if necessary.
- Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
- Utilize dental practice software during and after patient appointments to chart and post dental services.
- Coordinate with front office staff to schedule future appointments.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Have flexibility with work schedule.
- Clean and sterilize room after treatment.
- Keep treatment room and supplies neat and organized.
- Provide support to our sister offices when/if needed.
- Do your part to keep the office as a whole neat and presentable. If you see a mess, clean it up.
- Other duties as assigned to maintain office functionality.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, HIPPA and other regulations.
Qualifications:
Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist
Open Dental Knowledge a plus
Computer Literate
