Cabinet and Vanity Cabinet InstallerMain Tasks on the JobPre-Installation:- Review blueprints, shop drawings, and scope of work before starting.- Verify jobsite readiness: check floors and walls for level/plumb, clear access, and confirm deliveries are complete.- Ensure all cabinets, vanities, and accessories are staged at the unit before work begins.- Confirm tools, PPE, and safety forms are in place.Installation:- Assemble and install kitchen and vanity cabinets (base, wall, tall, and custom units).- Operate drills, impact drivers, nail guns, and saws safely for cabinet anchoring and modifications.- Adjust accordingly for uneven walls and floors: shim, trim fillers, modify panels, and re-square as needed.- Install drawer cabinets carefully make sure the cabinet box is square and level before inserting drawers, or glides will not align properly.- Install drawer glides with precision both sides must be level and parallel. Improper alignment will cause drawers to bind, sag, or fail prematurely.- Install and align soft-close mechanisms, hinges, and hardware only after the cabinet boxes are secure.- Cabinet doors must always be installed after the box is fully anchored and leveled this prevents misalignment and protects doors from damage during handling.- Perform filler, crown, scribe, and trim work for a clean finish.- Secure all cabinets plumb, level, and aligned with specs.- Install cabinet handles last this step marks the official completion of cabinet and vanity installation. Always use a precise handle template to ensure uniform spacing and alignment across all doors and drawers.- Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, and other trades on site.Post-Installation / Punch List:- Inspect each unit and prepare punch lists for adjustments.- Correct defects or incomplete work as directed.- Final check: verify smooth door/drawer function and correct hardware alignment.- Submit photos and documentation of completed units.- Participate in walkthroughs with PMs and clients.- Leave site clean, debris removed and protect cabinets until turnover.Materials:- Cabinets: plywood, MDF, particleboard, solid wood, prefabricated and custom units.- Fasteners and Anchors: cabinet screws, trim nails, adhesives.- Accessories: ladders, hinges, drawer slides, pulls, soft-close hardware.- Finishes: fillers, moldings, toe kicks, caulks, touch-up kits.- Safety gear: gloves, glasses, respirators, knee pads.Tools of the TradePower tools: drills, impact drivers, jigsaws, circular saws, multi-tools, nail guns.Hand tools: tape measures, squares, plumb bobs, clamps, pry bars, chisels, screwdrivers.Safety tools: ladders, scaffolds, shop vacs with HEPA, PPE, fall-arrest gear when required.
