Crown Recruiting seeks a Custom Applicator to join the team of an expanding ag cooperative in the Ashby, MN area The Custom Applicator is key in accurately applying plant nutrients & crop protection products to clients' fields, adhering closely to the specifications provided by the Agronomy/CCA team & clients. Additionally, maintaining & servicing application equipment is integral. Ideal candidates will possess a strong mechanical inclination & an unwavering commitment to precision. The company provides competitive pay ($20-26/hr) along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Blends, loads, & applies fertilizer & chemicals accurately, in accordance with manufacturer's requirements & the customer's crop plan
  • Responsible for proper calibration of fertilizer & spraying equipment
  • Maintains sprayers, spreaders, vehicles, & other equipment; repairs, welds, & paints fertilizer spreaders; repairs trucks; changes oil & greases vehicles/applicators
  • Receives materials; may unload train cars or trucks
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area, vehicles, & applicators
  • Performs inventory checks
  • Provide backup for other operations staff as needed

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED & minimum of 1 year related experience, OR equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Custom applicator's license & CDL
  • A valid driver's license & a clean driving record
  • Resourceful, self-starter who works well with minimal supervision
  • Excellent, effective oral communication skills
  • General understanding of basic mathematics & ability to perform these operations using unites of weight measurement, volume, & distance
  • Ability to operate & maintain equipment safely
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions & perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Ability to read maps, follow directions, & run equipment with computer-assisted operations
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
