Assembly QC Inspector

Pay Range$21.00/hr - $24.00/hrOverviewKaman Precision Products is looking for an Assembly Quality Inspector in Middletown, CT. This role is a temp?to?hire position under the direction of the Quality Team Leader. The candidate must embody our core values: Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Creativity, and Honor.ResponsibilitiesPerform dimensional and visual inspection of complex in?process and completed assemblies. Inspect complex subassemblies and completed units to assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, written instructions, and operation routing sheets for dimensional characteristics as well as soldering and welding workmanship, wiring, staking, runout, squareness, fit, function, component location, marking, and completion of operations. Record non?conforming conditions and data as required.Review test data sheets for printed wiring boards and tip assemblies for completeness, legibility, and compliance with specified values and tolerances. Confirm, through inspection of product and observance of related operations, that assembly tools and fixtures produce acceptable product.Check assembly test panels and chassis for identification, damage, compatibility with item tested and accept for use. Record inspection results and complete required documentation sign?off.May occasionally inspect templates, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to tool design for gauge standards to ensure appropriate manufacturing process. Report discrepancies or conditions that would result in defective products.Coordinate with product and quality assurance engineers on a regular basis to communicate and explain non?conforming conditions to assist in obtaining necessary corrective action. May work with customer inspector during concurrent inspections. May plot measurements on control charts and histograms. Interpret and use company/customer specified sampling plans. Assist in formulating and reporting recommendations for correction of process to eliminate or reduce percentage of defects.May be required to participate in improvement activities.QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience: 1-3 years as an Assembly Inspector or related manufacturing experience.
