Environmental ManagerSt Louis, MO AreaJob Requisition: 7594Description for Environmental Manager:The Environmental Manager will be responsible for overall environmental compliance and sustainability for the Recycling facilities in the US (current locations are Shelbyville, KY and Granite City, IL). This role will ensure ongoing compliance to local, state, and federal requirements while continuously improving the environmental management systems. This role is also responsible for coordinating decarbonization, energy use, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives that are core strategic imperatives.Environmental Manager Responsibilities: Develop and manage environmental permits, projects, plans, and programs from concept to completion. Must provide advice and assessment of future manufacturing projects to ensure Environmental compliance is maintained and improved.Functions as the main point of contact for environmental regulatory agencies and internal legal counsel on environmental matters.Conducts field investigations and prepares reports for problems, issues and resolutions relative to environmental compliance related, but are not limited to Title V, SARA, SPCC, storm water systems, RCRA, and DOT.Establishes and enforces performance levels and expectations in environmental plans to ensure overall environmental compliance and confirms conformance to environmental plans and specifications.Supports and encourages employee involvement in continuous improvement activities including Safety Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, TPM and Maintenance Excellence activities.Must maintain knowledge of government affairs as related to environmental regulations through outside sources.Prepare and submit Permit or regulatory required reports, plans, permit applications, and permit modifications related to CAA Title V, SARA, RCRA, TSCA and CWA NPDES.Develop and implement short-term and long-range strategies for pollutant reduction, waste reduction, decarbonization and energy consumption reduction.ISO 14001 & 9001 program involvement and leadership within the recycling facilitiesEnvironmental Manager Qualifications: Degree in Engineering (or reasonable equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental engineering, project management, or sustainability initiatives at a heavy manufacturing facility.Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing or being responsible for environmental regulatory compliance programs/projects in an industrial setting required.Adept at interpreting and implementing local, state, and federal air permitting requirements, including knowledge of air emission calculations and emissions control technologies.Strong mechanical skills
