What You’ll Do… 

You’ll produce inspiring interview-driven stories about people impacted by life-changing medical technology—for audiences of employees, clinicians and patients. Our big hairy audacious goal: through our video storytelling, we’ll help patients get access to 150 life-changing treatments by 2034, improving quality of life around the world.

 

Story Development and Pre-Production Planning

• Story development research, becoming an expert on your assigned content, clearly understanding the marketing and communications objectives.

• Developing creative treatments.

• Writing pre-scripts from pre-interview transcripts and developing visual/shot lists. 

• Crafting/editing interview-driven scripts.

• Maintaining organized project documentation/communication with project and client teams. 

• Collaborating on development of project and shooting schedules.

 

Interviewing, Field Producing and Directing 

• Effective interviewing: guiding and coaching on-set interviewees at all levels (employees, executives, patients and clinicians) to achieve messaging objectives, even when unexpected answers arise.

• Field producing and directing. On-location crew management and client relations.

• After-hours work and out of town travel for national and international shoots—a flexible schedule is required to accommodate.

 

Post-Production and Edit Supervision 

• Prepping projects for edit, including reviewing transcripts, developing paper cuts with b-roll/visuals, and music selection.

• Edit supervision and directing the development of motion graphics.

• Managing assets within the Microsoft ecosystem.

• Responsibility for quality standards of all deliverables.

 

What You Bring… (Mandatory Qualifications) 

• 5+ years experience writing, field producing, directing and interviewing, supervision of small documentary-style crews. 

• Demonstrated history of writing/producing high-quality interview-driven videos.

• 5+ years of relevant experience at an agency, production company or in a marketing environment, creatively solving clients’ communication challenges. 

• 2+ years experience in a client facing role. 

• Ability to research and quickly grasp sophisticated business and medical concepts, and effectively translate them for a broader audience.  

• History of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to anticipate and problem solve potential hurdles. 

• Demonstrated history of career growth, recognition and advancement. 

• Writing samples showing mastery of crafting soundbites to create a story. 

• BA/BS degree or higher.

• High-level computer literacy, enthusiasm for new technology and software. 

• High-level mastery of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with Microsoft Teams or other collaboration/project management software. Comfortable with Apple/Mac computers. 

 

Bonus Qualifications (Preferred but not required)… 

• Based in Southern California.

• Master’s degree or advanced education in a specialty that required high level research and analytical skills.

• Experience pitching creative concepts, developing video budgets and schedules, managing project scope, researching and securing production resources.

• Experience producing for—or working in—a highly regulated industry such as healthcare, medicine, banking, or other.  

• Experience developing video content for patient, clinical or internal/employee audiences.

Job Type: 

Contract with path to full-time W2 employment/benefits for the right candidate. 

 

Working Hours: 

Monday – Friday, 9:30 - 6:30PM PST, with occasional evening or weekend hours as required. If you are in a time zone other than Pacific, you must be willing to work Pacific or Mountain hours. 

 

Location: 

This position is primarily remote. West coast / Southern California based applicants preferred.
