We‘re looking for a proactive, experienced DevOps Engineer to ensure uptime, speed, and scalability across our global customer-facing systems-specifically those supporting iOS and Android environments. This role is perfect for a DevOps expert who thrives on creating high-performance, mobile-optimized infrastructure, enhancing our apps‘ speed and reliability, and innovating with infrastructure design for worldwide availability.

What You‘ll Do:

As our DevOps Engineer, you‘ll play a key role in collaborating with mobile development teams, optimizing for unique mobile needs like real-time updates, API rate-limiting, and managing infrastructure for iOS and Android development and monitoring. Your work will directly support our mission of delivering an exceptional experience to millions of users around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automate and Secure: Build reproducible infrastructure that supports security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Global Availability & Performance: Design, scale, and manage infrastructure for high availability, balancing uptime, performance, and costs.
  • Mobile CI/CD Expertise: Develop tailored CI/CD pipelines for mobile, streamlining the testing and deployment process for iOS/Android apps.
  • Infrastructure Monitoring: Collaborate on monitoring systems specifically for mobile, using tools like Crashlytics to track performance, network latency, and crash reports.
  • Collaboration with Mobile Teams: Work closely with iOS and Android development teams to optimize mobile-specific needs such as push notifications and real-time updates.
  • Automated Server Management: Maintain and manage hundreds of servers using tools like SaltStack and Terraform to ensure predictability and security.
  • Troubleshooting & 24/7 Monitoring: Automate 24/7 checks and be prepared to respond to production outages, ensuring our SaaS platform is consistently reliable.
  • Continuous Innovation: Stay ahead in the ever-evolving DevOps landscape, bringing new ideas and tools to keep our systems resilient, secure, and cost-effective.

What You‘ll Bring:

  • Infrastructure Expertise: Proven experience in mobile support, cloud-based infrastructure, and automation to maintain global system reliability.
  • Mobile-Focused CI/CD: Skilled in CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and mobile-specific infrastructure needs.
  • Linux/Unix Administration & Security: Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix, network management, data encryption, and designing resilient microservices architectures.
  • Innovative Mindset: A creative approach to infrastructure management-finding ways to enhance security without sacrificing agility and performance.
  • Development Knowledge: Proficiency in Bash, Python, Go, or other scripting languages, along with experience managing containers and networking technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ELB).

Metrics for Success:

  • System Management: Be able to automate and deploy complete environments within hours.
  • Availability & Responsiveness: Respond to internal and emergency requests with agility, maintaining our high uptime goals.
  • Cost Savings: Identify and implement cost reductions, saving thousands each month through effective infrastructure management.
  • Innovation: Continuously propose improvements that keep our systems ahead of the curve.

Requirements:

  • B.S./B.A. in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years in DevOps with a focus on mobile infrastructure for iOS and Android development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., SaltStack, Terraform) and RESTful microservices.

This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge infrastructure and to be part of a team that values creativity and collaboration. If you‘re passionate about mobile DevOps, dedicated to uptime, and motivated to innovate, we‘d love to hear from you
