Dietitian

Job Title: Dietitian (Health-to-Health Registered Dietitian)

Place of Performance: The work for this position will be performed at various Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) within the Colorado Military Health System (CMHS), including but not limited to the United States Air Force Academy, Peterson Space Force Base, Schriever Space Force Base, Buckley Space Force Base, Fort Carson, and associated sub-clinics in Pueblo County, CO, and Tooele County, UT. The initial assignment will be at Buckley Space Force Base, CO.

Telework: In-person services are required; however, telework may be authorized in emergent situations if government capabilities allow and with approval from the Contracting Officer.

Recognized Holidays: Contractors will be required to work on federally recognized holidays and may be required to provide routine or emergency services on other executive-ordered days off.

Hours of Performance: Duty hours will vary depending on the assigned location, typically scheduled between 0700 - 1700, Monday through Friday. Hours may include nights and weekends as needed to accommodate patient care needs and mission requirements.

Scheduling: The Government will provide a specific duty schedule for each two weeks at least five (5) days in advance. Schedule changes may occur with notification. Planned absences must be scheduled at least thirty (30) days in advance, and unplanned absences must be reported within one (1) business day.

Recording Time: Time must be accurately recorded in designated systems, including Defense Medical Human Resources System – Internet (DMHRSi) and Matrix timekeeping system.

Closures: Compensation for unplanned closures will be based on actual hours worked. In the event of planned closures, no compensation will be provided for hours not worked.

Mission Essential: This position is considered mission essential, requiring reporting to assigned MTFs during crises and declared emergencies.

Legal Authorization to Work in the United States: Applicants must have proof of U.S. citizenship or appropriate legal authorization to work in the United States.

Periodic Progress Meetings: Attendance at periodic progress meetings may be required as needed.

Contractor Travel: Reimbursement for travel outside a 40-mile radius may be authorized for patient care or transitional care coordination.

Computer Skill Competency: Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is required. Training will be provided.

HCW Health Requirements: Compliance with occupational health requirements, including immunizations and tuberculosis screening, is mandatory.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Completion of Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) or post-Baccalaureate degree Dietetic Internship Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
• Registration as a Registered Dietitian from the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• One year of specialized experience in diet therapy.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted dietetics license or certification as required.

Duties:

• Plan and organize work under minimal supervision.
• Participate in research and performance improvement studies.
• Conduct nutrition assessment/evaluation.
• Apply principles of clinical dietetics and medical nutrition therapy.
• Coordinate medical nutrition therapy interventions and interdisciplinary care plans.
• Conduct studies and analysis to evaluate nutrition-related operations.
• Apply food service systems management principles within a healthcare environment.
