You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesServe as the Senior Mechanical Engineer - Liaison Engineer across all IPT's within the SAOC program. Primarily responsible for problem solving and facilitating action between Ops, MX & Engineering. You will support the Aircraft Liaison Managers, SEIT & SAOC program leadership. You will be a responsible team member fielding the weapon system - 747-8, ground support equipment, trainer & systems integration lab.Qualifications You Must HaveBachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceUnderstanding of engineering principles and practicesExperience with Computer Aided Engineering toolsFamiliarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsQualifications We PreferExperience with Large Airframe AircraftsExperience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal AnalysisBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryKnowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processesAt Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
