Our facility boasts 13 specialty departments such as Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, Cardiology, and more, ensuring a collaborative team approach to comprehensive patient care. Your Role As a Surgery and Cardiology Assistant, you will support our veterinary and nursing teams in providing excellent patient care. Your responsibilities will include: Assist the Surgical Team by preparing for surgeries, maintaining instrument availability and sterility, facilitating digital radiographs, and assisting during procedures. Support the Cardiology Department with patient appointments, restraint, monitoring, and assisting with diagnostic procedures. Aid Veterinary Technicians in patient admissions and discharges, ensuring clients receive clear instructions for at-home care. Foster Strong Communication with clients and team members, providing important updates and instructions both verbally and in writing. Provide Excellent Patient Care through essential duties such as laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, and cleaning cages to maintain a safe, comfortable environment. Organize Supplies throughout the hospital, ensuring work areas are fully stocked and ready for immediate use. Uphold Cleanliness, ensuring that all areas are orderly, sanitized, and equipped as required. Anticipated Schedule This full-time role includes the following schedule: Tuesday through Friday: Tuesday and Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM; Wednesday and Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Compensation and Benefits Starting at $18.00/hour. Ideally, you have: Prior Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting (exposure to cardiology and/or surgery is a plus). A strong foundation in basic restraint, patient preparation, and instrument handling. Strong Communication Skills for effective interaction with the Surgery and Cardiology Technicians, veterinarians, and other team members. A calm, organized demeanor able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced surgical environment. Attention to Detail and adherence to safety protocols, particularly with instruments and patient records.
