Doctor of Medicine | Administration Location: New York, NY Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Join Our Team as a Locum Physician – General Medicine NY Are you a dedicated general medicine physician seeking flexible, meaningful work that supports Veterans while offering competitive compensation? We are currently recruiting a highly skilled Locum Physician to perform Compensation and Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across New York. This critical role provides an excellent opportunity to serve those who have served our nation, all while working on a PRN, as-needed basis that fits your schedule. In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments, including some physical evaluations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing. You will not be involved in prescribing or treatment but will play a vital part in administering evaluations, completing reports, and supporting our veterans' benefits process. Required Skills: Medical license in New York Background in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine Experience with Compensation & Pension exams and assessments preferred Strong communication and interviewing skills Ability to perform physical assessments as needed Attention to detail and proficiency in report documentation Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience working with veterans or in a government contractor setting Familiarity with diagnostic reading and medical opinion writing Certification in relevant medical specialties (if applicable) Preferred Education and Experience: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine Experience in performing C&P exams or similar assessments is a plus Other Requirements: Own office location in Ithaca, NY (1 day per week) or Trumansburg, NY (3 days per week) Ability to work on a PRN basis, including half-day and full-day shifts Quick credentialing and onboarding process Travel expenses included in rates for local candidates No reimbursement for pre-employment certifications or portal training Start date: December 31, 2025 Flexible schedule with day shifts, PRN as needed This is a compelling opportunity to contribute to a noble cause while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive pay.
