Global Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Import and Export Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the import and export process for the company. This includes developing and implementing strategies to optimize import and export operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws, managing relationships with suppliers and customers, and overseeing logistics and transportation activities. The Import and Export Manager plays a critical role in expanding the company's international presence and maximizing efficiency and profitability in import and export activities.


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement import and export strategies to meet company objectives and targets.
  2. Research and analyze international markets to identify opportunities for expansion and growth.
  3. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, distributors, and partners in foreign markets.
  4. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, customers, and service providers.
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant import and export regulations, including customs laws, trade agreements, and sanctions.
  6. Obtain necessary permits, licenses, and certifications for import and export activities.
  7. Coordinate with internal departments, such as procurement, sales, and finance, to ensure smooth execution of import and export transactions.
  8. Manage logistics and transportation activities, including shipping, warehousing, and distribution.
  9. Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
  10. Manage import and export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents.
  11. Analyze import and export data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customs officials, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies.
  13. Provide guidance and support to staff involved in import and export activities, including training and development.
  14. Stay informed about changes in import and export regulations and industry trends.
  15. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on import and export performance and initiatives.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, international trade, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  2. Proven experience in import and export management, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  3. Deep understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
  4. Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  5. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  6. Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as customs clearance systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
