CRH operates with a decentralized, diversified structure, letting you work in a small company environment while having the career opportunities of a large enterprise.Skills and Development During InternshipMust possess strong problem-solving skills relative to a fast-paced fluid environment with emphasis on striking a balance of delivering excellent customer service while maintaining company safety and efficiency guidelinesMust be computer proficient and ability to learn multiple levels of software (Command, Trakit, Universal, Microsoft Office, iPhone and Tablet applications)Must demonstrate a pleasant and accommodating demeanor over the phone and a positive and professional attitude with internal and external customers in a high-volume call settingAble to respond to stressful situations, co-workers, and customers in a professional, courteous mannerMust possess good listening skills and address customer complaints or concernsMust be able to learn extensive product line and their different applicationsAttention to Detail is imperative to accurately record delivery & product information into Command Dispatch Systems with ability to negotiate delivery times with customersAssist Manager to Schedule, dispatch and control an appropriate level of drivers required to satisfy customer demand while maintaining safety & efficiency goals established by the companyMust be able to navigate various GPS systems. Needs to be familiar with our local delivery areas and must be able to assist drivers in finding jobsitesMust be able to determine travel time to jobs and best plant locations to service the jobAssist the department to direct a fleet of up to 60+ trucks at one timeAssist with coordinating next day's delivery schedule and interpret necessary driver/production employee correlating start times and strictly follow and observe the Federal Hours of Service rules and regulationsCoordinate with plant supervisors to ensure proper storage and distribution of productsCollaborate with Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing and other departments to optimize processesMonitor and report on transportation costsResearch and suggest cost-effective shipping methodsEnsure shipping documents are properly filed, billed and invoicedKeep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed ordersReport on maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipmentEnsure compliance with safety policies, legal regulations and company policiesCollaborate with Other Departments to Integrate Logistics with Business Systems or ProcessesMaintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, training and safety recordsOther RequirementsMust be willing to travel to sites when required.Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.Strict adherence to Safety requirements and procedures and Company policies and proceduresTimely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Company employees.Education and ExperienceMust be enrolled in an accredited college or university and working towards an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or other industry related degree program.Language SkillsAbility to read English language sufficiently to read information contained in specifications, reports, manuals and regulations.Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and shop math.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
