The ideal Estate Manager candidate will be a unique blend of grounded and high-achieving, capable of maintaining privacy and discretion while performing at a high level. They should have a deep understanding of Woodside and San Francisco and be adept at planning ahead for projects when the Principals travel. Proactivity is key in this role, as the Principals are keen on incorporating new smart home features and developing a comprehensive household manual for both homes.


The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to articulate their contributions to the team. Adaptability is crucial, as this is a fully staffed home, and a team mentality is necessary. The Estate Manager will be responsible for directing staff during household events and projects and coordinating and managing vendors. Effective communication, especially with the Executive Assistant and Personal Assistant, is key to meeting the family’s needs.


We are looking for a candidate who is not just qualified but also passionate about what they do. A warm disposition and the ability to work in a home with young children are pluses. The right candidate will be successful if they’re comfortable taking the initiative and owning their role.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a 2,300 square foot home on 3 acres in Woodside and an 11,000 square foot second home in San Francisco
  • Create household manuals; document home appliances/systems, scheduling regular maintenance
  • Coordinate projects with household staff, act as a liaison to achieve initiatives
  • Maintain budgets and have a keen eye for inflated costs
  • Learning the Principal’s styles and preferences, subsequently thinking ahead regarding household ideas and projects
  • Assist with preparing the homes for private events
  • Assist with monitoring accounts related to home utilities, insurance, etc.


Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Estate Manager and longevity in those roles
  • Strong references
  • Strong communication skills; summarize ongoing projects concisely
  • Ability to make a long-term commitment pending the right fit
  • Ability to work as a team and work efficiently
  • Adaptable to various communication styles
  • Highly discreet and able to represent the family professionally
  • Comfortable working in a home with dogs
