DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES not limited to the followingBe appropriately dressed for the elements (Wearing appropriate PPE as required)Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipmentOperate, navigate and drive all company fleet vehicles in safe, efficient manner following the rules of the road set by government legislationPlan delivery routes, with co-ordination from the shipping supervisor, to maximize efficiency while on the roadPlan routes in a manner to meet and/or exceed delivery deadlinesRead work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignmentsParticipate in the loading and/or unloading of company fleet trucksFollow Department of Transportation policy and procedures regarding Load Securement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and operation of a commercial vehicleProvide on the job training to new/junior drivers as requiredProvide information for the completion of incident reports in relation to health and safety issues SKILLS AND COMPETENCIEEffective communication skills Attention to detail/AccuracyDependabilityIntegrityCooperationAdaptability/flexibilityInitiativeCreative problem solverAble to lift up to 50 lbsEXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required Customer Service experience preferred Valid Drivers License with clean driving record Minimum age to obtain a drive for hire endorsementVaries per state and insurance regulations Final candidates will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
