MUST HAVE: Have a background in construction / building materials - need to know/understand the construction lingo and be able to interact with the field employees.

Primary Function:

This person will ensure projects move forward on schedule and on budget. Through creating schedules, managing personnel, communicating with clients, and working with project managers to overcome challenges.

Most important:

  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate construction projects
  • Proficient in preparing and managing budgets and schedules
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources such as labor, materials, and equipment optimally across projects to maximize productivity and minimize costs
  • Coordinating the order and delivery of materials to job sites


Travel: Very rare

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members on the start-to-finish cycle of new and existing projects.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and strong professional relationships.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of superintendents to facilitate and expedite the project schedule..
  • Help create job site work schedules and production goals
  • Identifying project risks and proposing solutions
  • Dispatching subcontractors and equipment
  • Measuring and managing client satisfaction
  • Convene superintendents and finishers on a regular meeting cadence.
  • Monitor compliance with company/project safety requirements and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Assess and assign field workforce within the various geographic markets.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to ensure talent needs are met.
  • Ensure all project and payroll documentation is submitted timely throughout the work week. This includes time keeping, daily reports, job safety analyses (JSA’s), material tracking, etc.
  • Monitor the scheduling of all projects.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to address discipline and employee relations concerns.
  • Ensure new hire team assimilation and on-the-job success factors (e.g. parking, dress code, PPE, etc.).
  • Support the company’s performance management program outlining expectations, goals, and career progress.
  • Administer the Incentive Program for all concrete field professionals
  • Identify and provide learning opportunities for professional growth of team members.
  • Coordinating equipment maintenance
  • Keeping track of vendor pricing

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of direct experience in construction management
  • Outstanding ability to balance multiple tasks, prioritize them, and see them to completion.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects to successful completion.
  • Time management and strategic planning skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software such as MS Office Suite and Project Management software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
