**Job Title:** Seasonal Physical Therapist **Job Specialty:** Rehabilitation Services **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with some weekend shifts **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 **Experience:** - Minimum of one of the following as a Licensed Physical Therapist: - 1 year of full-time acute care specific experience - 2 years of skilled nursing/inpatient rehab facility experience - 2 years of acute care specific experience (for those working less than full-time hours in this area) **License:** Hold a valid permanent license as a physical therapist from the Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy **Certifications:** Provide proof of 2 hours of CVA specific continuing education obtained within the recent 4 months **Must-Have:** Acute clinical therapy experience **Job Description:** - Responsible for implementing physician's orders for physical therapy services - Provide comprehensive physical therapy within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate patient independence and safety - Utilize age-specific growth and development knowledge in caring for pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients - Perform patient evaluations with appropriate functional tests/measures - Construct and implement short-term, long-term, and personal/family goals - Document patient care securely and properly in the Electronic Medical Record - Use critical thinking in patient evaluation and treatment planning - Apply knowledge of physical agent modalities as needed - Work collaboratively as a team member to assist patient/family throughout the therapy care process - Demonstrate physical ability to move equipment and patients safely - Identify learning needs of patients or family members to provide appropriate care This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive; the employee will also perform other reasonably related job duties as assigned.
