Warehouse SupervisorThe Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, including managing employees within the department, meeting company and customer targets and requirements, and complying with health, safety and standard operating procedures. This role ensures inventory accuracy of the site by executing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and keeping physical inventory aligned with the Warehouse Management (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The role also manages the timely receipt and shipment of materials across all warehouse locations.This position reports directly to the Plant Manager at the Hillsboro location for Ornua Ingredients North America.Key areas of responsibility include:Enforcing established safety guidelines to promote a safe work environment.Overseeing daily warehouse operations and supervising warehouse team members and the shipping and receiving of all materials.Assisting in the planning, assignment, and execution of daily and weekly operational work goals in all warehouse phases, including shipping and receiving.Ensuring requests for quality samples to be delivered to the Quality Lab.Overseeing maintenance of physical condition and organization of warehouse.Monitoring and motivating team members to meet deadlines and target goals.Ensuring accurate and timely shipment and receipts.Performing duties following all good manufacturing practices (GMP's) including food, equipment, and operating safety requirements.Performing routine warehouse inspections on racks and storage areas for structural damage and submitting work orders for timely repair.Managing onsite equipment used in supporting warehouse operations.Ensuring inventory accuracy of site by executing cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and keeping physical inventory aligned with the Warehouse Management (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.Ensuring timely completion of all cycle counts while delivering on inventory accuracy targets.Ensuring that warehouse is shipping and receiving materials timely and maintaining alignment between physical stock, Warehouse Management (WMS) and Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) systems.Maintaining strong attention to material utilization, process flow, cycle time, Lean manufacturing and inventory control.Scheduling trucking of incoming raw materials shipments and outgoing finished product shipments using commercial and customer/supplier designated carriers. Verifying driver identification against driver identification files.Inspecting trucks for appropriate sanitary conditions on all incoming and outgoing shipments. Filling out inbound/outbound inspection documentation.Ensuring seals are placed on all out-going shipments and ensuring seals are intact on in-coming shipments. Preparing Bill of Ladings inclusive of product information, common carrier information, seal number and temperature requirement.Establishing and tracking KPI's for functional area (inventory accuracy / stacking / utilization / inbounds / outbounds / etc.) to measure on-going performance.Conducting or overseeing appropriate Risk Assessments for the Warehouse department.Ensuring security of warehouses (doors sealed, lights in working order, docks plates and levelers in good condition).Assisting with appropriate Accident/Incident Investigations and Right-to-Refuse Investigations.Conducting a monthly Safety Inspection.Investigating continual improvement opportunities based on employee suggestions and relevant legislation.Resolving employee conflicts.Operating forklift, performing all equipment checks for personal operation; reviewing all preoperational checklist for all forklifts in warehouse.Inspecting packaged products, received ingredients and informing proper parties of damage or concerns and recording in company systems.Overseeing the completion of all necessary cleaning and workplace sanitation requirements.Recording necessary warehousing information in a tablet, computer or by hand.Attending all required company training.Being flexible to support work in all areas as needed.Key requirements include:Minimum 1-3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.Highschool diploma or equivalent required, additional education a plus.3+ years warehouse experience.Knowledge of computerized inventory and tracking systems.Learn how to drive forklift and maintain Ornua Forklift License.Perform duties following all good manufacturing practices (GMP's) including food, equipment, and operating safety requirements.Excellent verbal/written communication skills.Write professional reports, prepare presentations and other business correspondence.Work as a member of a team.Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and act upon them.Time management skills.Document management.Uphold confidentiality of sensitive information.Microsoft Office proficiency.High attention to detail.Maintain excellent attendance.Occasional local travel.Rare travel to other Ornua locations.Ornua competencies include:Customer Focus Experienced.Working Together Experienced.Ownership Experienced.Communications Experienced.Physical/environmental requirements include:Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds consistently.Stand for extended periods of time.Vision including that ability to read, distance vision and peripheral.Walk.Stand.Lift.Climb ramps or stairs.Push/pull.Sitting.General Manufacturing Environment.Very hot and cold environments possible.
