Plant Manager Structural Steel FabricatorA leading structural steel fabricator is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee daily shop operations and ensure safe, efficient, high-quality production. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of large-scale steel fabrication, proven managerial skills, and the ability to drive performance across teams and processes. A CWI certification is a plus but not required.The Plant Manager will oversee shop personnel, production flow, equipment, scheduling, quality, and coordination with project and engineering teams. If you excel at leading people, improving operations, and maintaining high fabrication standards, this is an exciting opportunity to join a respected and growing organization.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily fabrication shop operations and workflowLead and manage shop supervisors, welders, fitters, and production teamsEnsure production meets quality, safety, and schedule requirementsCoordinate with engineering, project management, and field teamsMonitor fabrication progress, manpower needs, and equipment utilizationSupport continuous improvement initiatives and process optimizationReview drawings, fabrication requirements, and material needsMaintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused facilityAssist with hiring, training, and performance managementTrack productivity, quality metrics, and shop KPIsQualifications5+ years of experience in large structural steel fabricationProven leadership and shop management experienceStrong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, cutting, and material handlingAbility to read and interpret structural drawings and shop detailsKnowledge of quality, safety, and production best practicesStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsExperience managing large teams in a high-volume fabrication environmentPreferredBackground in both structural steel fabrication and heavy industrial workFamiliarity with AISC standards and fabrication workflowsCWI certification (a plus, not required)Experience implementing process improvements or lean manufacturing practicesCompensation & Benefits$85,000 $110,000 (DOE)Medical & Dental401(k)PTO & Paid HolidaysOpportunities for growth and advancementIf you are an experienced fabrication leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality structural steel, we'd love to hear from you.Send your resume to: justin.knitt@gogpac.com
