The Retail Leasing Associate will:

  • Positive attitude and willingness to cold call and knock on doors of prospective prospects
  • Identify and canvass prospective tenants in a variety of trade area through cold calling, target mailings, social media and email
  • Will regularly visit other malls in the Tampa market to prospect for tenants
  • Manage incoming leasing inquiries; gather information, quote rents, set up showings, etc.
  • Negotiate skillfully and work deals from inception to tenant opening and beyond
  • Prepare LOIs, develop scope of work for opening, and understand key deal concepts
  • Maintain competitive market surveys and assist in developing leasing strategies
  • Work on lease renewals, assignments, and modifications
  • Track deals closely, schedule follow-ups regularly
  • Provide leasing summaries and prepare leasing status reports
  • Develop relationships with tenants and brokers
  • Prepare leasing assumptions for property budgets
  • Troubleshoot problems and resolve issues
  • Respond timely to all inquiries, proposals, requests, etc.
  • Interface with marketing, legal, property management, construction, and other leasing personnel
  • Attend trade shows nationally to showcase properties, meet with tenants and brokers, and develop new leads
  • Will work out of mall office at RITHM(University Mall)
  • Will look for uses that create visits from students and professionals in the area


The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, finance, economics, or another related field
  • Commercial real estate or outside sales experience
  • Will become an expert in Tampa area retail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Solid computer literacy, able to use basic programs and company software
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Willing to learn and take direction from senior management
  • Uncompromising with respect to quality in all regards
