Foundry Manager

Manage and coordinate all shifts in the foundry. The casting and finishing of standardized components involving diversified operations and setups, including the inspection and/or testing materials and products at various stages of the processing for confirmation to specifications.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily production scheduling to ensure on time delivery to all customers including subcontractors, machining, and support departments.
  • Work with Sales and Materials Manager to plan and meet long range scheduling requirements
  • Ensure best practices for meeting production requirements.
  • Review production reports with a focus on earned hours and meeting the required metrics.
  • Utilize ECN process to keep earned hours accurate.
  • Recommend capital projects and ensure conformance to budgets.
  • Enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental and our own internal safety and housekeeping requirements plant wide.
  • Enforce all safety and work rules.
  • Continually improve the expectations of our employees, processes, and yourself, pertaining to safety, quality, delivery, and profitability.
  • Directs personnel to carry out tasks according to production requirements
  • Assists and trains employees in foundry operations and assists Foundry supervision in evaluating performance.
  • Collects and reports on labor time and for all foundry personnel
  • Supports the preparation and maintenance of documentation relating to foundry operations and job safety analysis
  • Adheres to a quality control system, which supports quality products that meets customer(s) expectations
  • Takes responsibility for the results achieved by the Foundry Department, in areas of meeting production schedules, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and the cross-training of personnel
  • Inspects materials and parts periodically for quality
  • Monitors equipment to avoid malfunctions and addresses maintenance issues


Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in all aspects of a foundry preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of computer systems and standard software (Excel, Work, Outlook) as well as manufacturing planning systems
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of authority and enforce a team concept
  • Excellent time management skills, problem solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret manufacturing prints, process sheets, safety documentation and quality procedures
