Job Summary
CenterPoint Energy is looking for a Distribution Operations Service Area Supervisor to join our Distribution Operations Team located in Houston, Texas.
You will have the ability to: supervise a staff of administrative support employees known as distribution operations service area assistants (DOSAAs). This position will require frequent client interaction, data entry and management, report generation and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Additionally, this position will be responsible for supporting work processes, improvements, and initiatives for the Distribution Operations organization; managing all aspects of their team's performance and experience; and overseeing compliance with business processes.
Essential Functions
To be successful in this role you will:
- Provide support for on-the-job training and serve as a resource for direct reports related to company policies and procedures. Provide leadership in mentoring and provide developmental opportunities for staff.
- Responsible for maintaining employee supervisory logs.
- While serving as a SAP subject matter expert, will provide consistent and full value-based usage of SAP for the business and direct reports.
- Through DOSAAs, provides budget support to Financial Analyst when necessary.
- Monitors direct reports for compliance of work processes, and performs random audits on work orders, and work processes.
- Manages multiple responsibilities, tasks, and a large volume of work in a dynamic and demanding work environment while maintaining a positive professional presence.
- Leading and participating in teams to design, develop, test, implement, and monitor change initiatives, policies, and protocols.
- Establishing, planning and coordinating team activities and assuring successful completion of objectives and assignments.
- Soliciting, selecting, classifying, compiling, and analyzing data from multiple internal and external sources as needed to create, modify, coordinate, distribute, and monitor reports, summaries, and data bases.
- Using personal analytical and mathematical skills to design, prepare, monitor, and maintain data bases and reports using a variety of software and mainframe systems.
- Understanding and anticipating staff and customer/ client needs and proactively seeking and implementing effective solutions.
- Appropriately and discreetly retaining the confidentiality of personnel, accounting, and contract information.
- Communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form.
- Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by management.
