Job Title: Research Operations Associate Division: Pediatrics Work Arrangement: Onsite only Location: Houston, TX Salary Range: $63,052 - $74,178 FLSA Status: Exempt Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Summary The Research Ops Associate for the Oncology clinical and research disease teams serves as the program lead for programmatic initiatives that improve care coordination, transition planning, and patient engagement for children Cancer. This role leads the day-to-day execution of projects, manages timelines and communication across interdisciplinary stakeholders, and ensures the delivery of research program goals. In addition to project oversight, the position supports data tracking, documentation. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and collaborative individual who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced healthcare environment. This role functions and is embedded within a research program and requires a strong balance of coordination, communication, and execution. The incumbent will support 18 different clinical disease/research programs across Oncology (cancer). Job DutiesProgram and Financial Management Participates and responsible ongoing initiatives within Oncology for Solid Tumors, Leukemia, Genetics & Genomics, LTS, Lymphoma Programs. Coordinates the day to day research operations and financial processes for the department. Monitors financial activity by compiling, reviewing, and reconciling financial accounts. Reviews expenditures from fund sources to verify accuracy, need, and compliance. Assists with preparation of cost and effort data for strategic planning. Program Stakeholder Communication and Coordination Coordinates meetings, work-groups, and communication across research and clinical administrative stakeholders (including faculty, lab staff, and program leadership). Prepares agendas, records action items, and monitors follow-up to ensure alignment and momentum. Documentation and Program Tools/Tracking Management Maintains shared documents, SOPs, and project templates to support consistent research workflows across initiatives. Manages shared folders and tracking tools to ensure organization and accessibility. Supports a high-impact multidisciplinary program spanning pediatric care and transition to adult care. Works with 15-20 active stakeholders across disciplines. Interfaces with external partners, institutional leaders, and community collaborators to support program delivery. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field. Two years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications3+ years of experience in project or program coordination. Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, and tracking tools.
