JOB REQUIREMENTS Milton Day CNA:

Possesses the ability to perform the following tasks for varying periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, lifting objects up to 10 lbs, assist with 50/100 pounds, climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, reaching overhead, push or pull, simultaneous use of both hands, wrists, and fingers.
Possess the ability to perform the following tasks for varying periods of time; speak in conversational tones utilizing English/American Language.
Communicate with participants suffering from various disabilities (difficulty hearing/seeing, confusion, physical weaknesses, seizure disorder, Parkinson’s, etc.).
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Knowledgeable of the Milton Adult Day Services philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures.
Arrives to work and meetings on time and ready to work.
Respects confidentiality of clients/families and other employees.
Sees change as an opportunity and maintains a level of flexibility, which allows for adaptation to new ways of performing.
Engages participants through the use of humor, enthusiasm, and positive reinforcement.
Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Clearly communicates information regarding changes in participant condition to RN.
Demonstrates good judgment in knowing what information needs to be communicated.
Handles communication in a timely manner.
Maintains documentation of client participation in activities.
Records information accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
Provide care and services to participants according to the care plan or as approved by an RN.
Assists with other activities of daily living as directed by an RN.
Offers support and encouragement to participants and families.
Assists with the planning, coordination, and implementation of individual and group therapeutic activities under the direction of the Activity Coordinator and/or other Day Center staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
Health care experience in geriatrics
