VCI Architecture is currently seeking an energetic, confident, and highly self-motivated Senior Architects. Qualified candidates will have full responsibility for proactively managing all aspects of new housing projects, bringing the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion. CA licensed architect preferred and experience with multifamily housing projects required.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate all project efforts, both administrative and technical, ensuring efficient and cost-effective execution across all development phases, including Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Actively manage budgets, schedules and programs, project communications, documentation, and project team assignments.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Design Director to develop projects through DD and CD phases.
  • Fully competent in all aspects of architecture.
  • Prepare Construction/Planning documents for building/planning permit submittals.
  • Estimating & budgeting hours and scope for new design project
  • Coordinate with consultants/engineers on drawings and specifications.
  • Provide oversight and monitor the work of junior staff


QUALITIFICAION:

  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated project management/architectural experience across all phases of residential development, including SD, DD, CD, and CA coordination.
  • Experience in CA multifamily wood frame housing, focusing on apartments and condos, required.
  • Knowledge of Type III and Type V construction over Type I podium or slab necessary. Experience with townhouses strongly recommended. Familiarity with concrete frame Type I, steel frame Type II, or CLT/mass timber Type IV construction beneficial for larger projects.
  • Proficiency in state and local building codes is essential, along with the ability to effectively coordinate with consultants and construction teams.
  • Strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills related to design and construction.
  • Architecture degree - BA, BArch or MArch required, exception for quality internship experience
  • Licensed Architect in CA or licensure path is desired.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in U.S.


SOFTWARE SKILLS:

  • Revit (BIM software) - Required
  • AutoCAD (CAD software) - Required
  • Lumion and/or Enscape (rendering software) - Optional but strongly recommended
  • MS Office (word processing, spreadsheet, scheduling) - Required
  • Bluebeam (review/comment software) - Optional but strongly recommended
  • Navisworks or other clash detection software - Recommended


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year.
  • Benefits include 401(k) with matching, flexible schedule, health insurance, and paid time off.
  • Bonus opportunities available.


SCHEDULE:

  • Monday to Friday, with the position located within a commutable distance to San Jose near Santa Clara County Center. This role requires full-time in-office presence.
