Title: AWS Cloud Solutions Engineer

Location: Memphis, TN || (onsite 2 days a week)

Duration: 6 Months Contract Hire


Job Descriptions:

  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
  • They will be going through fingerprinting, drug screening, educational & residential history check, credit, and criminal history check, completing SF85/86 government’s background check forms etc.
  • Comfortable waiting for 2-4 weeks for the USPS clearance process (start date will be ‘contingent upon USPS clearance approval’).


MUST HAVE

Experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk for deployment orchestration.

Experience with Amazon EMR (Elastic MapReduce) / Apache Hadoop, Spark, and YARN for big data workloads

Client requirement:

  • We are seeking an experienced AWS cloud Engineer and administrator who will provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, and support of a broad range of information systems.
  • This role involves effective administration of the existing IT solutions while also performing high-level system analysis and design for new technical solutions.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for executing support strategies for AWS Cloud and AWS related UNIX systems, middleware tools and customer applications.
  • The candidate will collaborate with other technical departments and personnel, provide guidance and advice where needed, and be responsible for the support of infrastructure, systems, and applications.


Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

Develop and lead the implementation of technical services support solutions.

Support development, test, and production environments in AWS and on-premises for enterprise-scale applications.

Support development activities for multiple enterprise-level custom application development groups.

Participate in day-to-day change, release, incident, and problem management activities.

Evaluate new technology solutions and develop cloud/hardware/software recommendations.

Develop and monitor standards and best practices for allocation and use of computing resources.

Design, deploy and manage AWS environments using AWS services

AWS Organizations, IAM Identity Center, Route53, Security Hub, Systems Manager, Control Tower, AWS Directory Service, etc.

Implement and manage infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools.

Develop and maintain AWS security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, and data encryption.

Monitor and optimize AWS systems for performance, cost, and security using tools such as AWS CloudWatch, AWS Trusted Advisor, Compute Optimizer, etc.

Develop and maintain AWS disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Troubleshoot issues and provide technical support for AWS and AWS related on-premises systems and services.


Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, MIS, or related field or equivalent experience.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification or any equivalent experience

Excellent presentation, written and verbal communications skills with ability to interface at all levels of government personnel.

Ten+ years of experience in the development, testing, implementation and support of enterprise-level computer solutions.

Five+ years of UNIX/Linux sysadmin experience supporting medium to large development, test, and production environments.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple work efforts.

Knowledge and experience with the Linux OS, kernel, patching, and software management.

Experience with enterprise-scale design, load-testing, capacity planning, and ensuring SLA’s are met.

Working knowledge of networking services such as: NFS, DNS, LDAP, NTP, etc.

Experience scripting in bash, ksh, awk, Perl, Python, etc.

Experience developing and implementing process improvements and automated solutions.

Experience with system design, implementation, and support of highly-available custom applications.


Desired Skills:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification.

Experience with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).

Experience with Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, Java/Spring, and Adobe ColdFusion.

Experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise products/technologies.

Experience with HA, virtualization, and cloud/elastic solutions.

Experience with stress testing and performance metrics collection and analysis.

Experience with NetScaler or other load balancing appliances.

Experience with large-scale project management processes and tools.

Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform experience.

UNIX as a plus, with primary focus on AWS.
