We are seeking a bright, self-motivated, mature and dedicated career minded individual with the following qualifications and skills:
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of the TAB technician is to understand the technical requirements of testing, adjusting and balancing HVAC systems based on the NEBB Procedural Standards and ASHRAE Guidelines and apply them as directed by their assigned Project Leader for individual projects.
Arrive daily at the office or project site at the time specified by the Project Manager or Project Leader, with proper work attire that maintains a professional appearance.
You will be expected to travel during your employment. You will be provided per diem for travel for eligible projects. Travel could be 25% - 75%, varies month to month.
Due to this being an entry level position Campos will assist you and provide mentoring and training for all of the following technical responsibilities:
Provide direct field support to the Project Leader for TAB on commercial construction projects including:
Helping transport ladders, tools, and equipment to and from jobsites.
- Field measurement and balancing of HVAC equipment.
- Airflow measurement using a Balometer
- Water pressure measurements using pressure gauges
- Rotational measurement using a tachometer
- Temperature measurements using digital thermometers
- Electrical measurements using a multimeter
- Climbing ladders and accessing equipment above ceiling
- Working in and around operating HVAC equipment such as fans and pumps
- Recording test data on data sheets for reporting
Study, understand and implement the NEBB Procedural Guidelines for Testing, Adjusting and Balancing HVAC Systems.
Study, understand and implement the ASHRAE Guidelines for Industry Standards and Procedures for Testing Adjusting and Balancing HVAC Systems.
Obtain NEBB Technician certificate within 2-4 years of employment as per NEBB guidelines for qualification.
Keep up with timesheets on a daily basis and direct hourly questions to Project Leader or Manager.
You may be assigned a set of tools. If you are assigned a set of tools, it is your responsibility to keep track of and take care of this set of tools. If you are not assigned a set of tools, use the tools of the Project Leader or Manager in a manner as if they were your own.
Able to read and understand mechanical drawings and technical specifications for HVAC. Also, read and understand the scope of services to be provided for each project. Campos will assist you and provide mentoring and training.
Prepare field documentation correctly and efficiently.
Follow construction industry safety guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma
Must be able to pass routine drug testing and willing to submit to a federal criminal background check.
Must be a United States Citizen or in the process of becoming a naturalized Citizen.
This is an entry level position. Prior work experience will be considered to establish your work ethic and ability to maintain commitments.
Good verbal, written communications skills are important. Verbal skills include direct eye contact, a firm handshake, good posture, and clear speech. Written communication should be typewritten when possible. Candidate should have good penmanship and legible hand writing.
Good coordination and desire to work with your hands.
Good understanding of High School Level Algebra and basic Math concepts such as fractions, ratios, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, working with exponents and root functions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products including Word and Excel. Working understanding of PDF’s and cloud computing is a plus. Basic understanding of computers and information technology.
Desire and ability to grow in responsibilities and proactively seek training and learning opportunities.
Stable career-oriented work history and the desire and commitment to grow with our company over the long term.
Must have a cell phone capable of phone calls, texts, and utilization of apps/data.
Must have a means of transportation for arriving to and departing from project sites or office.
