Summary:

Apex Systems has partnered with a top Healthcare Insurance client to help build out an automation testing environment. This new environment will initially integrate with and support their suite of applications centered around Identity Management. Once established, this testing strategy will be rolled out to the rest of the organization.

Our client is looking for a strong, confident Automation Engineer to help with the selection of a testing tooling, collaborate with high-level officials, form a proof of concept, and ultimately integrate these decisions into the corporation. As the Lead Automation Engineer, you will be highly involved in the selection and proof of concept process and then help lead a team of Automation Engineers in building the environment.

Top Responsibilities

  • Aid automation development or improvement from an early phase, managing specification, design, industrialization, and transfer to manufacturing as part of a global multi-disciplinary product development team
  • This role will focus on common standards for automation architecture and overall strategy in collaboration with hardware and software engineering
  • Interact with and support other departments and outsourced teams to facilitate handover and ensure all have required knowledge of products
  • Identify opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes
  • Evaluate, review, and recommend various test tools and / or frameworks for automation, Automation testing
  • Evaluate cutting edge security technologies, drive towards adoption, create proof-of-concept and frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leads to influence industry standards adoption
  • Advise leadership on Security issues, systems, processes, products, and services

Required skills/technologies

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years professional experience in software development or automation engineering
  • Expertise in at least one major programming language, such as Java
  • Experience with open source automation tools, such as Selenium
  • Experience developing test plans, cases, and suites for web, mobile, and/or desktop applications
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
