Job Description:
The Commissioning Engineer will be part of the General Contractor's (GC) commissioning team. Key responsibilities include reporting to the Commissioning Manager or their designees, attending meetings, documenting minutes, tracking the progress of MEP contractor installations, inspecting installed materials for contract compliance, and supporting equipment testing in coordination with the GC, Facilities representatives, and MEP trade contractors. We are seeking enthusiastic team players to contribute to our success.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Client, Owner, and Trade Partners to complete Commissioning Levels 2-5.
Ensure adherence to program standards.
Validate the submission and completion of all required equipment documentation.
Assist trade partners in resolving issues.
Review contract documents for MEP completeness and constructability. Work with project management teams to address scope gaps, omissions, and project-specific challenges.
Conduct site walks during construction to assess the quality and compliance of installations with contract documents.
Support functional testing with trade contractors, identifying, documenting, and tracking issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders.
Identify and resolve commissioning schedule constraints.
Assist in developing and maintaining the project commissioning schedule.
Lead Cx coordination meetings.
Communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally with clients, engineers, GCs, subcontractors, and vendors.
Maintain organization, track personal tasks, and coordinate tasks with other trade contractors.
Qualifications:
CxA/CBCP certification is a plus but not required.
A degree in construction or engineering is a plus but not required.
3-5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry.
A valid driver's license with a clean record.
