If this describes you, please read on Among the current openings, we’re on the lookout for a UAS Pilot & Instructor who will be responsible for the flight operations across all aspects of Ascent AeroSystems business, including production, R&D, customer training, and demonstrations. A successful candidate will be an expert operator of Ascent AeroSystems’ UAS platforms and will excel at training Ascent customers while adhering to the highest safety standards. The ideal candidate is a roll-up-your-sleeves, high energy, collaborative UAS enthusiast who works well on a team and individually.Reporting to the company’s VP of Operations, this is a newly created, full-time position based in our Wilmington, Massachusetts headquarters. Frequent domestic and international travel will be required.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct Flight Operations: Perform flight operations for all Ascent UAS, including production, training, demonstrations, and R&D testing, ensuring a safe operational environment.
- UAS Handling and Troubleshooting: Handle and troubleshoot all Ascent UAS platforms and products, and assist in the final configuration of customer UAS for delivery.
- Customer Training: Provide top-level UAS training to customers, generate and maintain training materials for both in-person and remote sessions.
- Support Business Development: Support business development by conducting demonstrations for potential customers and coordinating UAS displays and logistics for trade shows.
- Team Collaboration and Compliance: Work with a diverse and innovative team, following all company processes and standards to maintain the highest levels of safety and quality in all flight operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Certification and Experience: Active FAA Remote Pilot-in-Command Certificate (Part 107) with experience in UAS operations, flight testing, aviation operations, and at least 100 hours of UAS flight experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of UAS hardware (aircraft, sensors, radios, and peripheral systems) and experience with mission planning software; familiarity with ArduPilot-based systems is a plus.
- Operational Skills: Proven ability to safely operate various types and sizes of UAS (rotorcraft and/or fixed-wing aircraft); successful completion of a flight evaluation required.
- Education and Eligibility: High school diploma or GED (equivalent work experience considered); authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Communication and Teamwork: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation, and excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Resourceful Problem-Solver: You thrive in dynamic settings, leveraging your technical expertise and creative thinking to overcome challenges, continuously seeking out new knowledge and skills to enhance performance and deliver impactful results.
- Proactive Innovator: you know how to take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and drive projects forward with minimal supervision, demonstrating a keen ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
COMPENSATION
This position is expected to include a base salary between $90K and $100K.
