General CleanerEMCOR Government Services is seeking a General Cleaner, Monday Friday from 6:00pm 10:00pm at our National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) project in College Park, MD (NARA II). This is a SEIU, Local 32BJ-represented position.Job Title: Part Time General Cleaner - (NARA II) Schedule M-F 6pm - 10pmEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Clean, stock and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, etc.)Dust and wipe down surfacesEmpty trash receptacles and replace linersClean and sanitize restrooms and replenish suppliesClean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrorsFollow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelinesNotify supervisor of any maintenance or repair needsPhysical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects, if requiredPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications:Previous experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning preferredProven working experience as a janitor (1 yr experience)Follow all health and safety regulationsFamiliarity with SDSKnowledge of cleaning chemicals and suppliesMust be able to work independentlyAbility to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents in English.Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearanceMust be able to work M- F 6pm - 10:00pm or other shifts as assignedMust be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workersPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly walk for extended periods; required to sit; use hands to finger, handle; or feel; reach with hands and arms; talks or hear and test or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handleAll of these requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches, and cornersMust be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipmentWork in conditions that will create dirt and dust.Must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workersCompensation: $22.60 per hourBenefits: Health and Welfare Benefits consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
