DC Operations Lead Associate

Operations Leadership RoleSupports the operations leadership team by contributing to labor allocation, leading meetings, assigning job duties, coaching for success, creating a safe and collaborative work environment, and driving process improvement. The role will be very technical and require strong problem-solving skills. Leads will work closely with department supervisors to monitor work flows, manage dwells, and drive overall shift performance.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with Operation Supervisor to lead a team of up to 50 hourly associatesUtilize warehouse tools, including radio frequency hand held units ("RF Guns") and computer kiosks, to update transactions within the warehouse management system (WMS) and log activities in the Labor Management (LM) moduleUnderstand and act as a role model in following all standard operating procedures (SOPs)Train and coach associates to achieve all operational goals and service levelsMentor and develop teammates to perform better in their current roles while preparing them for future career opportunitiesAbility to develop and share best practicesHelp to foster a positive team environment that encourages all associates to provide insights and feedback to improve processes, adapt to an ever-changing business, and stay focused on customer satisfactionContribute to maintaining a safe and orderly working environmentIdentify, report, and follow up on any property damage or safety concernsParticipate in Lean Six Sigma activitiesOther duties as assignedKey Relationships:Operations management teamHuman ResourcesInbound/Outbound Distribution personnelInventory Control associatesLean Six Sigma teamKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication in EnglishAbility to work collaboratively within a large group of co-workersPositive and enthusiastic approachStrong knowledge of DC operations, including storage methods and material flowPerformance and metrics driven mindsetExcel, Outlook, Word and working knowledge of WMS principlesRegularly required to talk or hear; stand or walk; use fingers, hands and arms to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, push and pull for up to ten (10) hours/dayAbility to work in a warehouse environmentAbility to reliably attend work/scheduled hoursOccasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to forty (40) pounds; and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawlRequisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum of two (2) years related distribution experience and/or trainingAbility to work overtime and weekends as required
