Job Summary:

The OB/GYN Physician is a highly skilled specialist with a passion for women's healthcare. Primarily responsible for delivering medical services to our community health center patients, the Physician may also be directed by the Chief Medical Officer to perform additional duties in line with funding agency requirements, contractual agreements, and Company protocols. As a compassionate communicator and educator, the OB/GYN Physician plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of women in our community.


Job Duties:

1. Assume responsibility for the quality of care for all patients.

2. Test, diagnose, treat, and monitor diseases and issues related to women's health.

3. Perform various tests, including pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams.

4. Conduct routine check-ups and screenings for female patients.

5. Monitor and provide care for expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

6. Offer medical counsel and support to women during pregnancy and childbirth.

7. Adhere to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and professionalism.

8. Provide surgical care when necessary for obstetrical and gynecological disorders.

9. Educate patients on disease prevention, detection, and reproductive health.

10. Collaborate with medical and non-medical personnel.

11. Stay updated on current practices and innovations.

12. Assist the Chief Medical Officer in establishing medical policies and quality improvement procedures.

13. Recommend changes for improvement in clinical and general areas.

14. Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for patients and clinical staff.

15. Direct and supervise clinical staff as needed.

16. Maintain affiliations with professional groups and represent Company in relevant associations and organizations.

17. Hospital-Related Activities: Participate in hospital care, surgeries, and deliveries, including periodic hospital call or emergency room coverage.

18. Fulfill other duties as required by funding agencies or established by Company and Board of Directors.


Additional Duties:

1. HIPAA Compliance: Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of member information.

2. Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations.

3. QA/QI: Participate in QA/QI activities to contribute to overall performance improvement.

4. IT: Learn and use the Electronic Health Record and Practice Electronic System, including NextGen and other electronic features. Utilize email, web browsing, telephone applications, and office products.

5. On-Call Schedule: Participate in the on-call schedule (one week Monday-Sunday) and weekend clinic coverage, as per provider availability.


Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

1. Doctor of Medicine.

2. Four years of OB/GYN residency.

3. Board certification in OB/GYN and state license.

4. 5 years or more of practicing medicine after residency preferred.

5. Expert diagnostic skills.

6. Trustworthy and compassionate character.

7. Impeccable bedside manner.

8. Strong communication skills.

9. Interest in designing and evaluating an efficient health care system in a community health center highly desirable.

10. Authoritative knowledge of practice and general management principles.

11. Promotion of and belief in OFH mission statement.

12. Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious, and economic status.
