Auditor 1/2/3This position is within the Louisiana Works Audit and Security Division and is under the direct supervision of the Audit Director 2. The Auditor conducts financial, operational, and compliance audits for the Audit and Security Division of the Louisiana Works. Duties are performed in accordance with accounting and auditing principles, professional standards, established policies, plans, procedures, laws, rules, and regulations. The incumbent must have the ability to examine and verify financial documents and reports; communicate effectively; maintain effective working relationships; learn and apply governmental rules and regulations regarding accounting and auditing practices. Must use data processing information systems, software, and other automated tools to assist in performing audits.Minimum Qualifications:Three years of experience in accounting or auditing; ORSix years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; ORA bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; ORA bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; ORA bachelor's degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation; ORAn advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; ORA Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.Job Specification:The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:Performs financial, operational, and compliance audits.Ensures all work papers produced are self-explanatory, concise and substantiate the audit report.Complete audits in accordance with Global Audit Standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors, and professional standards such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Governmental Accounting Principles, and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.Ability to discuss areas being audited, audit issues, recommendations to resolve issues, and ability to work with management to develop appropriate corrective action plans.Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills to identify audit objectives and develop audit steps to fulfill them.Exhibits dependability by completing work assignments within budgeted time frames.Position Specific Details:Location: Baton Rouge, LAAppointment Type: This position may be filled as either a Probational or a Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a Promotion (open to all statewide classified and agency-wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected.
