Application deadline:January 22, 2026.OverviewThe Vermont Office of the Attorney General, Department for Children and Families, Family Services Legal Division, has an immediate opening for an energetic and talented full-time Assistant Attorney General who will be responsible for representing the Department for Children and Families before the Human Services Board.DescriptionThe responsibilities of this position include litigating Family Division cases before the Vermont Superior Courts and representing the Department in administrative appeals before the Human Services Board. Other duties include contract review, related administrative legal work, and training family service workers in all aspects of the litigation process. Travel across the state will be required. Located in Waterbury, the AAG will be responsible for handling litigation in Vermont Superior Courts, Family Division.CompensationThis Assistant Attorney General position is an exempt full-time position. Salary and benefits will be based upon qualifications and experience in accordance with the State of Vermont Attorney Pay Plan.
