Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant at CoxHealth Plastic Surgery, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our clinic. Enjoy having weekends off with a consistent Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule that allows you to work closely with highly-rated healthcare professionals, performing both administrative and clinical duties.

Administrative Duties:

  • Scheduling appointments.
  • Maintaining medical records.

Clinical Duties:

  • Taking and recording vital signs and medical histories.
  • Preparing patients for examination.
  • Drawing blood under the direction and support of clinic providers.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Graduated from a formal MA training program or graduated with an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma.
  • Experience:
    • None required, previous experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
    • Carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or with provider oversight.
    • Proficient computer skills.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    • Certification from a program recognized by CoxHealth such as CMA (AAMA – American Association of Medical Assistants) OR RMA (AMT – American Medical Technologist), CCMA (NHA - National Healthcareer Association), NRCMA (NAHP- National Association for Health Professionals ), or LPN.
    • Must obtain American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire.
