We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a crucial role in performing laboratory tests and analyses to provide accurate and timely patient results for both toxicology and PCR testing.


Responsibilities

  • Processes all testing of urine samples for LCMS based assays as per standard operating procedures.
  • Processes all testing of urine samples for PCR based infection testing.
  • Operates and maintains LC/MS and PCR analyzers.
  • Responsible for all Mass spec and Polymerase Chain Reaction department duties, including sample preparation, reagent preparation, data review and results reporting.
  • Performs quality control and calibrations for each lab procedure on a daily basis.
  • Maintains assay integrity and performance to ensure reproducibility of all results
  • Assists with proficiency testing and resolutions
  • Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problem or immediately notify Laboratory Management.
  • Follows all CLIA, HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized, and proactive.
  • Perform all responsibilities independently with no direct supervision required
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Supervise lab assistants


Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • Proficient in medical terminology and laboratory procedures
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, including PCR and assay methodologies
  • Experience in data analysis skills and interpretation of test results
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals
