Job SummaryWe are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Hospital Medicine to lead our hospital medicine team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. This role is responsible for setting and executing a strategic vision that enhances patient care, fosters innovation, and supports academic and research excellence. The Director will oversee clinical operations, provider performance, and educational programs, while promoting a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.Note: This is a shift-based position and does not accrue PTO or CME days.Job DutiesProvides leadership, planning, organization, staffing, coordination and evaluation for organizations activities.Responsible for the development and maintenance of the capital and operating budgets of the department.Lead recruitment efforts with ensure appropriate staffing for the Hospitalist serviceAct as liaison with hospital administration and other hospital platforms to promote innovative care, teaching, and research in clinical departments.Supervise and evaluate all institute physicians in clinical and assigned administrative duties.Responsible for all quality improvement efforts in the department.Directs and oversees the clinical, operational and financial management of the department.Responsible for all organizational and accrediting and regulatory agency standards, policies and procedures.Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.
