Senior Accounting Technician

divh2Senior Accounting Technician/h2pCGS is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join our team supporting the mission of a large federal agency. This position will entail a wide range of duties including management of accounts payable, reimbursement activity, collections, and account oversight. Skills and attributes for success include:/pulliAdjustment of the payroll/labor transactions via re-org processing./liliCorrect and processes federal government travel in accordance with policies and regulations./liliVerify, analyze, and maintain financial information used by the DOJ Office of the Comptroller./liliUse various electronic software and databases to analyze complex data sets./liliUse a financial management system to track expenditures of multiple accounts./liliGenerate reconciliation reports from a financial management system and reconcile financial books/reports weekly./liliPrepare financial reports and documentation for review and signature by DOJ Office of the Comptroller Management and numerous other U.S. Government agencies./liliAssist and provide support to other sections of DOJ in UFMS transaction processing and provide suggestions in system errors resolutions./liliCompose memorandums, referencing financial reports and activities, as well as letters to the outside vendors and agencies, as needed./liliComposes and disseminates correspondence, prepares forms and financial documents, manage databases, maintains the office files, routes paperwork, schedules and assists with web conferences, prepares meeting room and office events./liliPerforms other duties, either as assigned or on own initiative, that are necessary for regular or special projects undertaken by the division./liliContributes to team efforts, as needed./li/ulpQualifications:/pulliTwo-year degree in accounting or four-year degree in a related field with 30 credit hours in accounting./liliKnowledge of manual and automated accounting systems used by banking, financial and other institutions./liliExperience working with commitments, obligations, and interagency reimbursement agreements./liliExperience working with the quarterly review, accrual and closeout process./liliAbility to provide analysis and technical support for a variety of financial activities./liliAbility to identify and analyze change in budgetary and/or financial activities./liliAbility to research and analyze financial data./liliMust be a US Citizen upfront./liliMust be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance./li/ulpOur Commitment:/ppContact Government Services (CGS) strives to simplify and enhance government bureaucracy through the optimization of human, technical, and financial resources.
